This month we tracked down some really detailed bonus ramen bowls!
The Mini Ramen Bowls which were sent in all February Premium crates were really cool! There were so many different types and they were so detailed, that we knew we had to share them with you!
As ramen is an intricate dish, we wanted to go touch on a few of the different ingredients used~!
Of course you couldn't have Ramen without the noodles. The noodles used in this delicious dish are traditionally hand pulled and made of only a few ingredients - flour, salt, water, mineral water and sometimes egg.
In addition to noodles, you'll always have broth. There are a few different types of broth which are very traditional. Shio (salt), Tonkotsu (pork bone), Shoyu (soy sauce), and Miso broths are all fairly common. We suspect that the broth in these bowls is Shio.
Toppings can be wide and varied as demonstrated by each little mini bowl of ramen we sent out! Some of the toppings included in our bowls are beef, broccoli, egg, fish cake, fukujinzuke pickles, leeks, oysters, pork belly, scallions, shiitake, shrimp tempura, squid, tofu, & young bamboo chute.
We were able to identify 8 distinct bowls sporting a variety of different toppings!
